Managing Director and Head of Compliance APAC
Mr. Pieterse is a Managing Director and Head of Compliance APAC in the Ares Compliance Group. Prior to joining Ares in 2023, Mr. Pieterse was a Managing Director, Head of Compliance and Operational Risk Control, APAC at UBS Asset Management, where he served on the boards of various UBS funds management entities. Previously, he was Head of Compliance APAC at Fidelity International and Managing Director, Head of Legal and Compliance APAC at Macquarie Funds Group. In addition, Mr. Pieterse was a Lawyer and Senior Associate at Allens Linklaters, specializing in banking and finance. He holds an L.LB. (Hons) from the University of Technology, Sydney and a Master of Laws from London Universitys Kings College. Mr. Pieterse is a registered legal practitioner in New South Wales, Australia.
