Principal
Mr. Cantero is a Principal in the Ares Secondaries Group, where he focuses on infrastructure secondaries. Prior to joining Ares in 2023, Mr. Cantero was a Director in the Industrials Investment Banking Group at Bank of America, where he focused on transportation and infrastructure clients and transactions. Previously, Mr. Cantero was a Vice President in the Power, Utilities and Infrastructure Group at Moelis & Company, where he focused on infrastructure clients and transactions in North America and globally. In addition, Mr. Cantero held several positions including Finance Strategy Manager at BAA Ltd. (also known as, Heathrow Airport), where he worked closely with management and shareholders in areas including regulation, financing and capital markets and shareholder strategy as well as mergers and acquisitions and business development. Mr. Cantero holds a degree from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICAI) in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering and an M.B.A. from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
